This image was taken with the Canon EF 24mm T/SE f3.5L. I wish I had brought a tripod so I could play with this lens more properly.

This photo is of John Walton, a former adjunct professor at Judson and a photographer for Awana Clubs. This was taken with the very splendid and worthwhile Canon EF 200mm f2L IS. Yes, that one.

Stephen Fogg, another photographer-student type that was at the conference. Taken with the 14mm f2.8 II rectilenar, one amazing lens!

Chic Fil-A provided lunch on Saturday and gave out these little stuffed cows. One of the crafty students put his USB drive inside it. The access light from the USB drive light up the stomach of the cow, which was sweet.

This is Bill Fortney, an amazing photographer and dedicated Chiristian. Super cool guy, he has spent a lot of time over the last several years taking pictures of America from an Ultra-LIght airplane at 500ft. Incredible stuff!

This is John H. White. To stand and talk to this man is quite an experience. He is a legend in photojournalism and works right here out of Chicago for the Chicago Sun Times.

On my way home, bags packed and on the shuttle to the airport.

This is one of those moments I was glad to have my camera over my shoulder. I was going up the elevator and this airport worker was riding up towards the top. Luckly I was able to get to my camera and snap a few shots.

This man was escorted off the plane that was leaving our gate before my flight. He was very very drunk. The police cuffed him and escorted him away. My camera was packed away, but I managed to snap this one with my iPhone.

I didn’t take a whole lot of pictures this weekend, most likely because I was pretty distracted for most of the weekend. I have a really busy week ahead and I was preoccupied with trying to figure out how to get it all done.

Learned a goodly amount, but mostly I was excited about the people I met. I have about four Chicago-based photojournalists that offered to give me additional feedback of my images during my internship. That is gonna be amazing and in many ways well worth the cost of the conference. I also presented nine of my images from my coverage of Election Night 2008 in Chicago to a room full of incredible photographers. Crazy. Scott Strazzante from the Chicago Tribune helped me narrow down my pictures, which was great!

I am now exploding with excitement for my internship this summer. Insane.

Peace out all,

– KS
